It will take time, and you will have to invest that time not just sit back and wait. The best solution will be to find as many websites as possible that will link to yours, the more closely related the better, while avoiding if you can any that are somewhat dubious.

You will probably have to do some reciprocal linking. On dynamic and e-commerce sites I can include a system where you can manage your own recommended links within four categories of your choosing .. this too will help, as linking to sites of a similar nature helps how Google views your site in your field.
